Luis Rodriguez-Colon, MD

Luis Rodriguez-Colon, MD, is a practiced and compassionate physician who joins Trinity Medical Group with a background of varied experience and education. Originally from Ponce, Puerto Rico, Dr. Rodriguez earned his medical degree at Autonomous University in Guadalajara, Mexico, and completed his residency in Doctors Community Hospital in Santurce, Puerto Rico. Having lived in the greater Lakeland area with his family since 2013, he has fallen in love with the community. “I love Winter Haven because it’s cozy but still growing. There’s so much potential here…we have a big and bright future.”

Dr. Rodriguez enjoys exploring Central Florida with his wife and three daughters. On any given day away from the office, you can find them perusing theme parks, lounging on a west coast beach, or venturing into a new town full of undiscovered local treasures. He enjoys sports, jazz, film, and the Caribbean is his top travel destination. If he could invite anyone to dinner, he would invite his parents for a Puerto Rican and Mexican feast. His family is of utmost importance to him, and that quickly becomes evident in the way he engages his patients.

If you are a patient of Dr. Rodriguez, you aren’t simply one cases of sickness in a line of several that he’ll see on any given day. You are an honorary member of his family and he treats you as such. When asked why he practices medicine, Dr. Rodriguez said, “I think I was called to help people through healing. I also enjoy serving the less fortunate. I like to listen to the patients and try to help them in all aspects: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.” He, like all of the providers at Trinity Medical Group, wants to help guide you on your health and wellness journey. Healing illness and restoring physical health is the place to start, but our team—including Dr. Rodriguez—is committed to whole-person well-being.
